Why is magic so sexual?

So, sex and magic... Well it seems to me like sexuality and spiritual practice have always been intertwined. And I think that, sex being a primal form of union, brings forth forces that are equally primordial, in great quantity. I need to look into that too.
You folks are going to ruin my spotless internet history...

Alt title: Why does chaos magick involve jacking off to sigils?

I just decided to make it more broad since I think other magical traditions involve some type of sex magick.

Yes I'm too scared too google this and I haven't touched Liber Null in a long time.
I believe Carroll had to step back from his leadership in IOT because he knew he was still seeking that "One" Sigil for a bountiful life of spiritual fulfillment.

In autumn of 2007 I authored a word/sigil out of thin air for my fictional medieval novel.

I would not know its true potential until 2015 when I read it and its counterpart backwards!

This sigil requires 2 steps...

1: the sigil(s) themselves
2: anger/anxiety suppression

Here goes...

Rule#1: aphrodisiacs start with L and end with N

Lesbian & Leiscerbettian

Leiscerbettian
->spell backwards, who you see?
->an imaginary spirit

Leiscerbette
->imaginary city
->spell backwards, who you see?
->an imaginary spirit

NOTE: "ette" sounds like "eddy"

#

Rule#2: "Anger needs Oxygen"

⚠️ DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH! ⚠️

"Slow-Breathing" helps keep balanced levels of Oxygen & Carbon Dioxide.

Anger is Anxiety!
Anxiety is Anger!

Anger is Anxiety expressed outwards; Anxiety is Anger expressed inwards.

It is okay to get angry -just know the difference (see below)

"Rational Anger" (I lost my keys, my tire has a flat, etc)

"Irrational Anger" (I hate rainy days I hate the scar on my face, etc)

"Irrational Anger" is those things we have no control over.

#

These things are now very simple to me. The narrative no longer belongs to the collective -but to each individual.

Good Luck!

PS- As for "Lesbian", both its imaginary spirits are Sappho & Atthis (of the greek poet, "Sappho")

Because, in my humble opinion, magick is charged by "life-wind", chi, prana, etc and this can flow out of a person in many ways. One of the most powerful is sexual release. Another would be breath (think chanting, playing a wind instrument, breath, spellwork) - a specific example of this is when people breath into effigies, or put incantations into food (and other bodily products in many folk traditions... the reason is the same, different intentions). When you do things like yoga, chi kung or acupressure you can literally feel it flow through you. It also carries your intention.
Other ways: attention/focus (meditation and visualization), touch, a variety of other bodily fluids.

“An intellectual is a person who has discovered something more interesting than sex.”

I think A. Nox said this well with the post on altered consciousness. The human brain has a lot of systems interconnected. Things that affect one thing may affect others. I've noticed a pattern that a lot of herbs used for dream or spiritual enhancement also tend to fall under aphrodisiacs also (blue lotus and damiana are the two mentioned most often). Chaos magic just pokes the horny mental pathway first and frequently?

Sex has never been "good" because of a certain, missing sigil. And has been missing for over 2500 years!

An intellectual thinks and speaks in words. A missing vocabulary has shown to stunt an intellectual's evolution.

I hear today's intellectuals still quoting this saying,

"Money & Power is the best aphrodisiac"

What today's intellectuals have "found better than sex" is slandering & physically assaulting those who do not serve the virtue-signalers -so much so that politicians have become idols & living gods.

1000s of years of overpowering the weak and the strong haven't yet learned anything better than maintaning endless wars.

Even when he is not horny, Mr Big Dick can not brag enough about how big his dick is -every 3 minutes

I'm not sure how to respond to this. The quote was intended to be provocative and point out the opposite of the quick and dirty of Chaos magic. I would argue that most academics and intellectuals are unknown and unheard from, and even the most public rarely "physically assault" anyone. A long debate on the state of modern thought though might be beyond the scope of this thread. Still thanks for the reply.

Well i prefer using rage and anger for activating my sigils. Let the feeling grow and grow in your stomach and walk through your body will reach the throat then explode. Usually comes with a raising growl and ends with the destruction of the image of the sigil.

I think it’s a complex subject, nuanced and multifaceted…lots of interesting perspectives here, and I’d say most likely have at least some degree of accuracy and are hitting on a more holistic, essential “version” of the reality. Human sex is special. In its ideal, intended form, it’s safe exposure and unbridled intimacy, oneness, connection. You can’t engineer that in any other way.

I heard a funny version.
"Sigils and other magic that came out in the 19s are tought to use sex magick, because Austin and Crowley are both filthy old man and they like it."

Here was an interesting read that might help explain some of these connections.

The idea that precognition works better with sexual pictures originates from a controversial 2011 study by Cornell University psychologist Daryl Bem.
Bem argued that in "precognitive" tasks, individuals were able to predict the appearance of erotic or sexual images at a rate significantly higher than chance (53.1%), suggesting a "precognitive detection of erotic stimuli"
Now science would have to make the link between accurate Psi events and sexual energy.

What kind of study would you try to design to achieve that goal?

The mos tbasic idea about why magic is sexual is because it works with the union of opposites exactly as it happens in sex, nullifying the law of the principle of non-contradiction.
The principle of non-contradiction is subject to many types of logic, as it has long been considered the minimum guarantee of consistency for any statement or inference. According to the 15th-century cardinal, mathematician, and mystic Nicholas of Cusa, the coincidentia oppositorum—or "coincidence of opposites"—is the "least perfect" name for God. Nicholas of Cusa conceived of God as "coincidentia oppositorum," that is, the union of opposites.

This is an expression with a clearly metalogical meaning, which explains, in this philosopher's thought, why it is impossible to know "God" rationally. Nicholas Cusano gave the example of a circle: if it is expanded infinitely, all its components (diameter, radius, circumference) end up coinciding. Likewise, "God" is the point where all opposites coincide. In It, light and darkness, black and white, woman and man, substance and non-substance, are identical. "God," therefore, is also beyond the True and the False, since they coincide. The concept of Coincidentia Oppositorum subsequently influenced the work of numerous Western scholars, including Carl Jung, the founder of analytical psychology, who viewed the psyche of each individual as a coincidence of opposites—a blend of conscious and unconscious elements that together constitute a harmonious and unified whole called the "Self." This Higher Self represents the attainment of understanding and integration of the whole.

In magical practice, understood in the broadest sense, the so-called "coincidentia oppositorum" is a necessary condition for achieving what the ritual or practice was created to achieve. In other words, what happens with the construction of a magical ritual is that we create a contradiction on the material plane (temple, altar, gestures, weapons, breathing, visualizations), and elevate that contradiction to divine characteristics, with a balanced blend of all the elements that contribute to the celebration of creation. Then the Magician as God becomes the point where all opposites coincide.
