Let's try to discuss magick as a tool to acquire information here, and any kind of information.

Are you the witch that uses tarot to find stuff about other people lifes?

Are you the ceriminialist that conjure spirits, angels and demons to ask them stuff?

Are you the necromancer that invoke old dead man to find their secrets?

In your opinion what is the best way to use magick to gather knowledge, how did you get that conclusion, what do you think you could do differently to improve your results?

Myself: I used to break situations into symbols so that I could try to read then and predict the future. For example, I dreamt about a beach on the night, woke up to a rainy day, got wet on my way to my job and out of nowhere got those notifications about pictures on Google photos from past friends. I would conclude that the water represented emotions, the beach some kind of fun/nostalgic feeling, and the photos might give me some hint about someone from my past that will appear again or maybe a new person that reminds me of that old someone, perhaps a similar context idk.

I predominately use tarot to read into situations, but thoughts work for me as well. Thoughts work along the lines of I'm being thought of or my name has been brought up in a way. I use tarot to get more detailed. I'm still practicing with runes but have had great success with it.

Tarot works like a charm honestly, it never fails to amaze me. Runes are cool but I never liked the idea of using them for divination.

Honestly runes are a little difficult for me given that everything is focused into one symbol, but when I do get the message it's very clear. sometimes I even use them together to make sure I'm getting the message fully.

Fourth pentacle of mercury from the (Greater) Key of Solomon.
That's a interesting one, how exactly you use it?

I heard from some colleagues that built the talisman that there's some kind of physical invocation in the way you organize the information into it, allowing the owner to contact mercurial spirits direct.

Information gathering is the whole point of divination. Tarot is the common go-to of course, as are runes, but there are many methods. I get my most thorough results from geomancy. I learned through John Michael Greer's Earth Divination, Earth Magic which I have previously added to the library. However, instead of drawing the dots with a pen on paper or a stick in the dirt, I made a pouch with multiple small stones of four types, each representing one of the four elements. I pull a handful of stones at a time and count each type, then fill in the odd or even into each elemental line of one figure. This way, I generate one figure per pull, instead of having to generate a full 16 lines, and then apply the figures to the charts. The two charts combined provide a LOT of information. It can take hours to read and synthesize. And this method has yet to steer me wrong or give me inaccurate information, even if I don't always understand it at the time of reading.
