What first got you into occultism?

Curiosity. It was mysterious and secretive and pointed towards hidden or lost knowledge. Then as I began to understand that Occultism was the foundation of the modern world and a key to personal growth it became a lifelong obsession.

Comic books and getting really into alan Moore and grant morrisons stuff plus I have always been obsessed with comparative religion and having some mystical experiences

I was seeing things to put it bluntly, some light paranormal things started occurring while I was in college, and I was noticing a few girls or maybe just one who was appearing as many reappearing in my dreams that wasn't anyone I knew in life. Been looking into the occult and esoteric trying to get some answers and figure out whats going on. Might have a few ideas but ultimately still no answer yet.

I would say by research. After realising that Christianity was only plagiarised, I began to dig until I fell in love with occultism

This kind of thing runs in my family. My great-grandmother practiced magic. But I don’t consider it a “gift.” It’s more like a curse.

Happiness is living to the age of 99 as an atheist, never having been touched by magic or curses; never having seen the dead or ghosts—having that world pass you by completely. Sadly, I wasn’t so lucky in that respect.

It just started with reading trashy fanfiction and still believing that it would somehow be real but then i started investigating and that's how i found out

Maybe my introduction can be attributed to demon fear mongering growing up catholic, being accused of having demons inside of me as a child. Growing up surrounded by new-age spiritualists teaching me about meditation, crystals, how to use a singing bowl. The person who taught me those things died when I was 8, around 10 I started practicing new-age techniques like meditation/chakra cleansing/astral projection, around 11 meeting a friend who got me into general divination, tarot cards, pendulums, etc. It's all evolved from there.

I was always an arm chair occultist who collected books. Eventually I lost my fear, and actually started reading more tangentially related religious texts, and it opened me up to practicing all the knowledge I accumulated. Results happened, then more activity, then more books.

Noticing that physical reality didn't always occur in a rational, logical manner. Then, I began searching for what could explain it.
